Visitor's Guide
The National Museum of Prehistory and Ethnography bears the name of, and was founded by, the palaeontologist Luigi Pigorini, who realized the necessity for a museum which could display artefacts from both Prehistoric Italy as well as those produced by “today’s savage and barbaric populations”, in order to permit comparison of the various stages of human development.
